Colonel Curtis V. Ebitz, Jr.
Colonel Ebitz is a native of Pittsburgh, PA, graduated from the University of Florida and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant through the Marine Corps’ Platoon Leaders Course in May 1993. 
Colonel Ebitz completed The Basic School (TBS) in the summer of 1994.  After graduating from TBS, Colonel Ebitz reported to primary flight training and was designated a Naval Aviator in December 1996.
In June of 1997, Colonel Ebitz completed CH-46E pilot training with Marine Helicopter Training squadron (HMT) 204 and transferred to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron (HMM) 162.  While assigned to HMM-162, he completed two Mediterranean deployments with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, two Combined Arms Exercise and numerous unit detachment deployments.
Colonel Ebitz reported to Marine Corps University, Quantico, VA in July 2001 to attend Amphibious Warfare School.  Upon graduation in May 2002, he reported to TBS and served as the Combat Service Support Company Commander, Operations Officer and Executive Officer of Instructor Battalion.  Following his time in Instructor Battalion, he served on the TBS staff as the Professional Development Section Head and the Commanding Officer of Alpha Company 1-04.  
In September of 2004, Colonel Ebitz reported to Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 29, MCAS New River and deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF) 04-06.  Upon his return in October 2005, he reported to HMM-264, MAG-26.  Colonel Ebitz completed numerous unit detachment deployments and a deployment with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit as the Aviation Combat Element Operations Officer with HMM-264 Reinforced.   
In June 2008, Colonel Ebitz transferred to Aviation Plans, Programs and Budget Branch (APP), Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC), Department of Aviation.  While in APP, he served as the APP-2 Budget Section Head and APP-22 Flying Hour Program Manager.  Following the Pentagon, Colonel Ebitz reported to Marine Corps Forces Pacific, Camp Smith, HI in July 2011 to serve as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Safety.
In June of 2012, Colonel Ebitz reported to 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa, Japan serving as the Current Operations Officer until he assumed command of Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron One (MWHS-1) March 2013.  While in command, the squadron participated in multiple Theater Security Cooperation exercises, humanitarian assistance and contingency operations.  Following his command tour, Colonel Ebitz returned to the Pentagon in June 2015 and was assigned to Program Assessment and Evaluation Division, HQMC, Programs and Resources where he served as the Resource Strategy Section Head. 
Colonel Ebitz was reassigned to the Joint Staff J5 Deputy Directorate Transregional Threats Coordination Cell (T2C2) in June of 2016 where he served as the Division Chief for the Assessments Division and Multinational Operations Division. Following his tour on the Joint Staff, Colonel Ebitz returned to HQMC, Department of Aviation in August 2018 to serve as the Aviation Plans, Programs and Budget (APP-1) Branch Head until detaching for Command of MCAS New River.
