Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C. -- If a fast-paced, fun environment is what you’re looking for to get into shape, then the High-Low Toning Aerobics class offered at the Marine Corps Air Station New River AS-4400 Fitness Center may be just right for you.
The class is run in a circuit fashion with an assortment of weights and exercise equipment, with each exercise or station lasting about one minute.
With each class you will target each and every muscle group with little rest in between exercises, which keeps the heart rate elevated.
“With every class, I make sure that the entire body is worked and stays engaged,” said Annette Petrongelli, air station and group fitness instructor. “I really like to mix up the class so that it is always something new and different, which is a more effective form of exercise.”
The class will typically start going through six to nine different stations followed by weight training. It then concludes with another six to nine stations.
“Each class is roughly an hour long and is suitable for everyone,” said Petrongelli. “If someone in my class has any sort of injury, I have them do an alternate workout for the station that may aggravate that injury.”
The class setting is a high-energy and fun environment and is designed to push each individual to his own limit, said petrongelli.
“I have been attending this class for quite a while now and I really love it,” said Christine Domyamic, aerobics class participant. “Annette is a great teacher and really knows how to get you going and keep you going. The class is an amazing way to work out and is so entertaining that you don’t even recognize that you are sweating your butt off.”
