JACKSONVILLE, NC -- The New River ID Card center continues to have system related problems associated with DEERS/Rapids. This has been an ongoing problem for over a week limiting our ability to issues CACs and USID/Teslin Cards. We understand the frustration this creates for appointment and walk-in customers. However, until DMDC resolves this enterprise-wide problem, we will continue to assist customers to the fullest extent possible.
Customers with appointments have priority. You can schedule an appointment by visiting the ID Card Office online at https://idco.dmdc.osd.mil/idco Please make a separate appointment for each ID Card required.
As a reminder, the Secretary of Defense issued a memorandum on 7 April 2020 that raised the minimum age for initial issuance of a dependent ID from age 10 to 14. This should not impact a child’s ability to receive medical care so long as the child is enrolled in DEERS. Some Primary Care Managers are unfamiliar with the change and this is creating additional frustration for customers. We all must educate our medical providers on the new DOD policy.
