JACKSONVILLE, N.C. -- Tropical storm-like conditions are expected to move into our area today, Sept. 22, through Saturday with 3-6 inches of rainfall expected and sustained 20-30 mph winds with gusts up to 45 mph. At this time, MCAS New River will maintain normal operations throughout the day and New River and Camp Lejeune community schools are observing regular hours. Patrons of Onslow Beach are cautioned against any in-water activities as large waves and strong rip currents are expected. Air Station residents are asked to secure any loose items and debris that could be pushed into storm drains. Station updates will be provided if conditions worsen.
