Station Conducts Full-Scale Emergency Exercise, Feb. 28

MCAS New River first responders and staff will conduct a full-scale emergency response drill called Exercise Vigilant Response on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, scheduled to take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. While the exercise is expected to have minimal impact on daily operations, station personnel will see an increased presence of emergency responders and role-players in the following areas:

  • AS-207 – Future site of Child Development Center II (located near Curtis Road and Bancroft Street)
  • AS-211 – Station Headquarters
  • AS-4400 – Fitness Center
  • Bowling Alley
  • Chapel
  • Marina
  • Recreation Equipment Rental
  • Theater

Please expect closures to these facilities and their associated parking lots during the exercise. Some facilities may not resume services until the following day.

This exercise will provide an opportunity for the installation emergency management team, Fire and Emergency Services Department, the Provost Marshal Office, Marine Corps Community Services Lejeune-New River and Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune to drill emergency security procedures, test active-shooter response and family reunification plans.
