Marine
Corps Community Services is hosting a local career fair at the Career
Resource Center on Marine Corps Air Station New River, Sept. 8 from 10
a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Attendants
of the event are advised to have several resumes and to dress in
professional attire and due to the nature of the event, children are
unable to attend.
"The event is opened to
all base patrons looking for an opportunity to network with
representatives and regional companies," said Sarah Carr, the family
member employment coordinator with MCCS New River. "They are hiring and
seeking transitioning military, veterans and military family members to
potentially fill their job openings. This is a great chance to make an
impression on an employer that you are interested in."
The event will have
companies such as Walmart logistics, Myrtle Beach Police Department,
Onslow County Government, Wells Fargo, MCCS and Plantation Village.
There will be more companies and representatives that come to the event
covering many fields in the community to pursue.
Carr said this is a chance to directly speak with
company representatives and not to just apply online. For more
information call 449-4914.
