Gate preventative maintenance, Oct. 22
Wednesday, Oct. 22, the following gates will be closed for preventative maintenance:
•            Douglass Gate, closed 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
•            Stone Bay Gate, closed 1 to 3 p.m.
 

Curtis Gate lane closures, Oct. 27-Nov. 10
Lane closures are scheduled for the Curtis Gate, beginning Monday, Oct. 27, and lasting through Monday, Nov. 10. The gate will remain operational throughout this time, but personnel should expect increased traffic and wait times at the gate.
 

 

Curtis Gate closures, Oct. 7-17

The following closures have been scheduled for the Curtis Gate:

  • Nightly closures, 6 p.m. to 5 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7 – Friday, Oct. 10 at 5 a.m.
  • Complete closure beginning Friday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. The gate will reopen for morning traffic on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 5 a.m.
  • Nightly closures, 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15 – Friday, Oct. 17

During these closures, personnel should proceed to the Douglass Gate, located south of the Curtis Gate on NC-17.
 


Curtis and Douglass Gate impacts, Oct. 17 – New!

On Friday, Oct. 17, the Douglass Gate will be closed to normal traffic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Only emergency vehicles, DoDEA and School of Infantry buses will be permitted to use the gate during this period.  

All other traffic should use the Curtis Gate. Due to reduced lanes at the Curtis Gate, personnel should anticipate increased traffic, delays and randomized vehicle inspections.

Perimeter Road Closure. Oct. 4-19 - New!

Perimeter Road will be closed from Oct. 4-19 Oct to conduct repairs addressing sinkholes caused by a storm drain issue. The closure will affect the section of Perimeter Road between ECP-68 and ECP-69. Personnel should plan accordingly and use alternate routes, as necessary.

 


 

POWER OUTAGE ADVISORIES

There are no scheduled power outages at this time.

Personnel living in the barracks or BOQ should report any power outages to their barracks manager.

Personnel living on base should report any power outages to their PPV housing office maintenance line.

WEATHER ADVISORIES

The annual Atlantic Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30 each year. The MCAS New River area will be in Topical Cyclone Condition V (TCC V) until November 30 which indicates the potential for the occurrence of destructive weather is elevated, but no specific system threatens the area.
