Sgt. Aaron Smith, a native of Fort Thomas, Ky., the crew chief of a CH-53 Super Stallion helicopter piloted and crewed by Marines with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 461, a unit based out of Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C., assists the helicopter pilot on board through commands and signals in shutting down the aircraft after landing in Boston Common May 3. The Marines exhibited their aircraft they flew in on during the first day of Marine Week Boston, which honors and recognizes the contributions of Marines, including Boston-based hometown heroes and their families.
