Local JROTC students attend Battle Color Detachment performance

– Cadets from the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps attend a demonstration of martial arts maneuvers by members of the Marine Corps’ Martial Arts Center of Excellence (MACE) at Soldier Field today. Retired Marine LtCol. Joseph Shusko, MACE Director, discusses the warrior mindset and traditions with this crowd of 800 young people. The demonstration was one of several throughout the city as part of the inaugural Marine Week, which runs through Sunday. The weeklong event provides the residents an opportunity to meet Marines and learn about their history and traditions.
