MCAS New River Construction Map  Camp Geiger Entrance improvement project. Two additional lanes onto Camp Geiger as well as two lanes behind the Commisary leading to Campbell St., an additional outbound lane in addition to relocating the controlled four-way intersection currently at Wendy's to the enterance of the Commisary. V-22 Aviation Complex Project includes an addition to an exsisting hanger and a multi-story aircraft hangar to operation and maintenance four (4) V-22 squadrons. This hanger will also include a 4 story 1,250 car overhead parking garage, heat resistant aircraft parking apron for 50 aircraft and a new parallel taxiway. Alternate Route to the Station Marina- Traffic congestion with intermittent delays along Curtis road; extended delays and traffic re-routing will occur on Longstaff Street until further notice. Access will be maintained to the Marina area via an alternate route on Perimeter road.

Traffic light at the old Camp Geiger enterance has been moved to the intersection of the new Camp Geiger enterance just before the Commissary. The pedestrian crosswalk at the old light is now controlled by a flashing light only. Pedestrians have the right of way which means all vehicles must yield to pedestrian traffic. New unmanned enterance to Camp Geiger viewable from the light at the intersection of Campbell and Church St's.

Description:
Construct a one bay multi-story aircraft hangar addition on an existing training squadron hangar to provide operation and maintenance space for (1) V-22 training squadron.

Substantial construction activity around the flightline in the vicinity of hangar AS-508 on the northeast sector of the Airfield. There will be increased traffic aboard the Air Station due to an increased number of construction vehicles and heavy equipment as the hangar is constructed. Traffic congestion with intermittent delays along Curtis road during concrete deliveries.

The new "Super Hangar" being built aboard Marine Corps Air Station New River will be the largest structure in Marine Corps History. The estimated completion date is July 2014. The hangar will host Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 366 and Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 467 from MCAS Cherry Point.

Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron 22's new aircraft hangar construction is underway with an estimated completion date of Dec. 22, 2013.

The Marina aboard Marine Corps Air Station New River is estimated to be completed by September. One of the renovations includes a four-level, 1,200 space parking garage to host marina patrons and "Super Hangar" employees.
