Major Andrew G. Maxwell

Major Maxwell is a native of Melbourne, Florida. In 2003, he attended the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History in December 2008. While attending college, he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve, serving as a Combat Engineer and deploying to Haditha, Iraq in 2005. Upon graduation, Major Maxwell was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and reported to The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia.

Upon completion of The Basic School, Major Maxwell reported to Pensacola, Florida for training as a Student Naval Aviator. Major Maxwell was designated a Naval Aviator in 2011 and reported to MCAS Camp Pendleton, California for advanced helicopter training in the UH-1Y.

Upon qualification in model, Major Maxwell reported to MCAS New River, North Carolina for duty with HMLA-167. Major Maxwell deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of OEF 13.1 with HMLA-167 in 2013 and OEF 14 with HMLA-467 in 2014. In October 2015, Major Maxwell deployed to Okinawa, Japan with HMLA-167 in support of the Unit Deployment Program where he flew operations in support of Cobra Gold and Balikatan. Upon returning from deployment, he executed permanent change of station orders to Okinawa, Japan. 

In August 2017, Major Maxwell reported to MCAS Futenma where he served as the Air Station Operations Officer and Airfield Operations Officer and flew the UC-12W in support of operations throughout the Pacific. In September 2019, Major Maxwell executed permanent change of assignment orders to 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) and served as Brigade Air Officer.

In April 2021, Major Maxwell reported to The Basic School and served as Headquarters Company Commander, Delta Company Commander, and Fox Company Commander. Major Maxwell executed orders to H&HS New River in June 2023.

Major Maxwell's personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with Strike/Flight numeral 6, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon.
